Two runs and a bike ride
Saturday morning was a tale of two runs. I met Tim and Randy for the 8am 5 miler before the full run/walk group met for an additional 4 miles. It was a beautiful sunny morning with temps in the low 40s, but rising as the minutes went by. Having done a total of 9 miles with a twenty minute break between wasn't too bad. There were a couple of faster guys that I ran with for the second 4 miler. They took off on the final 2 miles and ran sub 7 minute pace for a bit. I happily got dropped from that pace and did 7:22 min/mile for my last mile. Faster than I normally do outside of races, but it felt pretty good to finish strong.
Sunday was another clear sky day with temps in the mid 60s. A taste of spring. I took Keanu to a single track mountain bike trail that is a 3 mile winding loop within a nearby park. At first I figured we would just go in for a bit and turn around after a mile or so. We didn't. Although Keanu asked to turn around at one point, I felt we were already half way and it was best to just keep going. I may have been wrong though. But he did great and rode up and down a lot of tricky sections. He did have to walk some of the steeper parts, but was able to bike through the little creek crossing.
Back to work tomorrow and back to the push ups. I did a few chin ups at a playground yesterday, but no other weight resistance exercise.
