Monday Push Ups and Run
Another week of slowly increasing the number of push ups I do in a workout. This morning I tried Week 4, Day 2, Column 3 for a total of 140 push ups. As always I extended the rest periods a bit. I was only 4 short on the final set, so not too bad overall. I'll probably repeat this round again on Wednesday.
| Set | The plan | What I did | Difference | Post Rest Time |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 25 | 25 | 0 | 2 mins |
| 2 | 29 | 29 | 0 | 2 mins |
| 3 | 25 | 25 | 0 | 2 mins |
| 4 | 25 | 25 | 0 | 3 mins |
| 5 | 36 | 32 | -4 | |
| Total: | 140 | 132 | -4 |
After work I met up with Tim for an evening run. It was a comfortable 49 degrees and with the days staying light later each day, we got in just under 6 miles. The time, the miles and the hills definitely go by pretty quick when you run with somebody and chat about whatever. Neither one of us are training for anything particular now so there is no pressure to run a certain distance, pace or anything.
I don't have any specific running goals right now. My only motivation to run during the week is either to meet up with Tim or to post miles up in the World Running League as part of the Nike+ community. The running league counts miles run from Wednesday to Friday. It isn't always easy to run much those days, but the challenge keeps me motivated all the same.

I also ran for 5k after work. I didn't have time to run further because of after-school activities later in the evening. On Sat. afternoon I ran the 5 mile loop around Stone Mountain.
We're now the proud owners of a Wii and Wii Fit Plus. Galen promptly destroyed me in Wii bowling with a score of 202 to my 132. I haven't decided if I'll use any of the Wii Fit workouts. We got it mostly for Kathy and the kids to use.
